# Built-in Applications

VibesEZ-Laptop includes five pre-installed applications. This guide covers each one.

## Notes

Personal workspace for capturing thoughts, ideas, and important information.

### Getting Started

1. Open the Notes app from your home screen
2. Click "+" to create a new note
3. Enter your content
4. Auto-saves automatically

### Creating and Organizing Notes

**Note Details:**

* Title - Descriptive heading
* Content - Up to 50,000 characters
* Categories - Organize by custom groups
* Date Stamp - Shows creation and edit dates

**Organization Features:**

* Search - Find notes by keyword
* Categories - Create and assign custom categories
* Sort - Arrange by date, title, or category
* Pin - Keep important notes at top
* Archive - Store old notes without deleting
* Delete - Permanently remove notes

### Sharing Notes

Share notes with other players:

1. Open the note you want to share
2. Click "Share" button
3. Enter the player's name
4. Choose read-only or editable access
5. Send

Shared notes update in real-time across both players.

### Formatting

* **Bold:** `**text**`
* *Italic:* `*text*`
* Bullet lists with `-` or `+`
* Numbered lists with `1.` `2.` etc.
* Dividers with `---`

## Tasks

Organize your to-do list, set priorities, and track progress.

### Creating Tasks

**Task Details:**

* Title - Brief description
* Description - Detailed info (optional)
* Priority - High, Medium, or Low
* Due Date - When to complete
* Category - Organize by type (Work, Personal, etc.)

### Managing Tasks

**Viewing Options:**

* All Tasks - See everything
* Active - Only incomplete tasks (default)
* Completed - Finished tasks
* By Priority - Filter by importance
* By Category - Filter by type

**Sorting:**

* Due date (earliest first)
* Priority (highest first)
* Alphabetically
* Recently created
* Recently modified

### Completing and Archiving

Check the checkbox next to a task to mark complete. Completed tasks appear with strikethrough and move to completed section. Archive old tasks to keep list clean.

### Advanced Features

**Recurring Tasks:**

* Daily - Every day
* Weekly - Selected days each week
* Monthly - Same day each month
* Custom - Set specific intervals

**Reminders:**

1. Open the task
2. Click "Set Reminder"
3. Choose reminder time (15 min, 1 hour, 1 day before)
4. Enable notifications in Settings

**Subtasks:** Break large tasks into smaller steps:

1. Open a task
2. Click "Add Subtask"
3. Create individual subtasks
4. Track progress percentage

**Shared Task Lists:**

1. Go to your task list
2. Click "Share List"
3. Enter player names
4. Set permissions (view-only or edit)

## Calculator

Perform calculations for transactions, inventory counting, or everyday math.

### Basic Operations

| Operation      | Symbol | Example     |
| -------------- | ------ | ----------- |
| Addition       | +      | 5 + 3 = 8   |
| Subtraction    | -      | 10 - 4 = 6  |
| Multiplication | \*     | 6 \* 7 = 42 |
| Division       | /      | 20 / 4 = 5  |
| Modulo         | %      | 17 % 5 = 2  |

### Using the Calculator

1. Enter numbers using number pad or keyboard
2. Select an operation
3. Enter another number
4. Press "=" to get result

### Features

**Memory Functions:**

* M+ - Add result to memory
* M- - Subtract result from memory
* MR - Recall memory value
* MC - Clear memory
* MS - Store result in memory

**Calculation History:**

1. Click "History" button
2. View previous calculations
3. Click any result to use it again
4. Clear history when needed

**Scientific Mode:** Switch to Advanced Mode for:

* Square root (√)
* Power/Exponentiation (^)
* Trigonometric functions (sin, cos, tan)
* Logarithm functions
* Parentheses for order of operations

### Copy Result

* Click "Copy" button in result area
* Or use Ctrl+C keyboard shortcut to paste elsewhere

### Usage Examples

**Budget Calculation:**

```

**Percentage:**

```
Original: $100
Discount: 20%
Result: 100 - (100 * 0.20) = $80
```

**Tip:**

```
Meal: $45.50
Tip: 18%
Amount: 45.50 * 0.18 = $8.19

## Settings

Customize your laptop experience with comprehensive settings.

### Theme & Appearance

**Color Scheme:**

* Light Mode - Bright interface
* Dark Mode - Easy on eyes
* Auto - Switch based on time of day

**Font Size:**

* Small, Normal (default), Large, Extra Large

**Accent Color:**

* Choose from curated palette

**Window Transparency:**

* Adjust opacity 0% - 100%

### Notifications

**Alert Preferences:**

* Enable/disable all notifications
* Sound on or off
* Visual popups on or off
* Task reminders on or off

**Notification Types:**

* Crypto transfers
* Task reminders
* Message alerts
* App updates
* System notifications

**Quiet Hours:**

1. Enable "Quiet Hours"
2. Set start time
3. Set end time
4. Choose if emergency notifications bypass quiet hours

### Display Settings

**Resolution & Scaling:**

* Auto - Match game resolution
* Custom - Set specific dimensions
* Scale Factor - Adjust for DPI

**View Mode:**

* Full Screen - Immersive experience
* Windowed - Desktop-style
* Compact - Smaller footprint

**Performance:**

* V-Sync - Limit to monitor refresh rate
* Target FPS - 30, 60, 120, or Unlimited

### Privacy & Security

**Data Management:**

* Auto-backup - Sync data automatically
* Local Storage - Cache data offline
* Offline Mode - Sync when reconnected

**Privacy:**

* Share Status - Show online/offline
* Activity Log - Track history
* Data Analytics - Help improve app

**Security:**

* App Permissions - Control what apps can access
* Password Lock - Protect with PIN (optional)
* Two-Factor Authentication - Extra security (optional)

### Application Management

**Auto-Start:**

* Choose which apps launch on open
* Set app launch order
* Enable/disable per app

**Update Notifications:**

* Auto-Update - Update all apps automatically
* Ask First - Get notified before updating
* Manual - Only update when you choose

**Storage:**

* View space used by each app
* Uninstall apps from here
* Clear app cache

### Language & Localization

**Language (if available):**

* English (default)
* Spanish, French, German, and more

**Region:**

* Date format
* Time format
* Currency format
* Units (metric/imperial)

### Advanced Settings

**Developer Mode:**

* Debug information
* Performance metrics
* Enhanced logging

**Experimental Features:**

### Account Settings

**User Information:**

* Display name
* Avatar/picture
* Bio/status message
* Contact email

**Linked Accounts:**

* Social profiles (where enabled)

Most changes take effect immediately. Some require a laptop restart.
